Nanofill Composite Bonding

Nanofill composite bonding is a cosmetic dental treatment that uses a tooth-coloured resin containing extremely fine filler particles (measured in nanometres) to repair and reshape teeth. The dentist applies the soft resin directly to the tooth surface, sculpts it into the desired shape, then hardens it with a curing light and polishes it to a natural-looking finish.

Nanofill composite uses ultra-fine filler particles, which give the material a smoother surface, a higher polish, and good resistance to wear and staining. It blends very naturally with surrounding teeth. In other respects the treatment is the same as standard composite bonding.

Nanofill composite bonding typically lasts around five to seven years, and often longer with good care. Its fine particle structure helps it keep a smooth, glossy finish and resist staining. Like all bonding, it can be polished or repaired if it wears or chips.

Cosmetic bonding is not available on the NHS, so nanofill composite bonding is offered privately. Tooth-coloured composite may be used on the NHS to repair teeth where there is a clinical need. Practices set their own fees, so ask for a quote.
